Historically, moonstone has been cherished across cultures; in ancient Greece and Rome, it was believed to bring good fortune and protect travelers. In Indian culture, moonstone was revered as a sacred stone associated with lunar energy and divine feminine power. Its use extended into talismans and amulets, symbolizing intuition, emotional balance, and spiritual growth.
Chemically, green moonstone is a variety of orthoclase feldspar, composed mainly of potassium aluminum silicate (KAlSi₃O₈). Its distinctive appearance arises from a layered internal structure that causes light diffraction and the characteristic adularescence. Throughout history, moonstone has been regarded as a powerful stone for emotional healing and spiritual insight.
Today, green moonstone remains popular in lapidary circles, prized for its beauty and symbolic significance. It is often cut into polished Raw Points for jewelry, meditation, and healing practices, continuing its legacy as a stone linked to intuition, serenity, and natural beauty.
