Opalite is a stunning man-made crystal known for its milky, iridescent glow. It is primarily composed of synthetic glass, often a type of opalized glass or a combination of silica and other minerals, which are fused and treated to produce its characteristic appearance. Unlike natural opals, Opalite is created through a controlled manufacturing process involving melting silica and other compounds at high temperatures, then cooling it rapidly to form a glassy substance with a luminous, opalescent surface. The result is a smooth, durable material that mimics the visual effects of natural opals but with enhanced clarity and color play.
Historically, stones with similar properties have been used in various cultures for their supposed metaphysical benefits.
